Almond Brook Rd South Estate
Victory For Common Scence
To sumarise the view of one Wigan councillor on the Planning Committee.
If it was covered in mature trees how can it be previously developed land?
This was to ultimately create a site about 40 houses because Wainhomes expected land they didn't declare in the outline planning permission request. The site needed a road access through No 31 onto Almond Brook Rd. removing the safest place to cross for the busses.
Wainhomes got the owners of 25 and 31 Almond Brook Rd. to let their chainsaws in to flatten the woodland which screened this road from the footpaths in the valley below.
Despite this Wainhomes were still able to fill in the application form to the planners as
Do you intend to fell lop or top any trees as part of this new development ? NO
437
Objection letters have forced the planners to look hard at the governments policies and court cases to see the flaws in this application.
They advised the councillors to object to the application on PPG3 technicalities rather than the issues of traffic, trees, views and overloaded local services in the objection letters.
