!Outline Planing Permission!
Warning: Any detail shown by developers at this planning stage may be completely misleading.
Now, at the full detail planning stage on the Almond Brook Rd hillside site we are threatened with an eyesaw 4 story tower block!
Even the Appeal Judge at the outline planning stage was taken in, thinking "it would not be necessary to raise the level of the dwellings". If 4 stories set against a background of bungalows isn't 'raised' what is!
This latest plan should be rejected by Wigan MBC under UDP policy H2C.

PRIMROSE LANE - Wainhome's latest application to halve the size of this environmentally protected area is to go to appeal. We do not know the date time and place yet.
We now have the long awaited pedestrian crossings. No doubt many will moan at the increased traffic delays. What this has done is shown planners that there is no road capacity left in Standish. They will have to look carefully at emergency service response times before loading ever more housing into Standish.
The planning application which triggered this web site is the so called, Beechfield site. We lost that after 8 months of opposition. (the process takes less than 2 normally). In that time we learnt much about the planning process. We are happy to offer help and advice to others seeing similar development. We will be happy to add other contentious planning applications and developments to the web site if you send some details to the address at the page base.
